About Me

Steven Jacobs is the founder of EDM Sauce and Solo Shave. He has helped many young musicians launch their music careers as well as managing both Kygo and Thomas Jack in years prior. Style Of Sound named EDM Sauce one of the most influential music websites in the world.

My life story

I was born on June 10, 1988, in Ventura, California. From the very beginning, I had the drive and motivation to make an impact in this world.

I grew up in Camarillo, California and attended high school at Oaks Christian High School in Westlake, California. At first I struggled with school and finding my place. All I knew was that one day I wanted to prove to myself to others that I could work hard and make a real difference in this world.

College

After debating on a number of schools, I attended Concordia University in Irvine. As I entered the school for a tour, I was introduced to my future track & field coach, Coach Blu. Coach Blu helped inspire me to not only go to college there, but also to always reach for my highest of goals. Despite Coach Blu’s passing a few years ago, I still look back at many of his life lessons he instilled in my heart during my time playing Shot Put & Discus in college.

Growing up I had always wanted to become a financial planner because I heard they made decent money. I decided to triple major in Finance, Management and Marketing in order to help assist in my financial career. After an internship with Thrivent Financial, I soon realized that cold-calling and the restrictions on marketing in the financial sector wasn’t for me. I took up my next internship with NVISION Laser Eye Centers (Formerly TLC Laser Eye Centers So Cal division). Falling more in love with my marketing classes, I decided to take on a marketing role at NVISION. Upon graduating from Concordia University, I received the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society Award. Married my lifelong friend from college, Ashley Jacobs and gained incredible friends throughout my entire journey.

The Corporate Life

After graduating from Concordia University my internship with NVISION Laser Eye Centers turned into a full-time role and thus kicked off my corporate career. After NVISION Laser Eye Centers I began working with Neilson Marketing Services and lead as the Search Engine Optimization Strategist. After 2 incredible years I transitioned to Healthcare Success’ SEO & Social Media Director.

Entreprenuership

At a very young age, my dad insisted that I read Robert Kiyosaki’s ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad.’ This book helped me realize that I was bound to get out of the so-called ‘rat race’ and that time is money. In 2010 I began a blog titled ‘Bars From Last Night’ which was focused on reviewing bars, night clubs and restaurant. The main point of this blog was to obtain free drinks and food for myself wherever I went. As a young and struggling college graduate, this website helped me realize that it is essential to do something in life that you love to do.

In April of 2012, I began the music news website, EDM Sauce. While there were some other music news websites for dance music at the time, my main goal was to focus on music news 80% of the time and new music 20% of the time. At the time, most websites focused on new music 80% of the time and only 20% on music news. This was one of the many factors that helped result in the success of EDM Sauce in the crowded space time after time. EDM Sauce has grown to be one of the most influential music websites in the world as well as being a leader in online ticket sales for dance music shows and music festival clothing.

While ticket sales, advertising and online store sales have been beneficial to me, I really wanted to focus on passive income as well as recurring revenue in 2015. Thus began my idea for Solo Shave. Solo Shave will be a premiere monthly shaving subscription service in the crowded personal grooming space. More on this later.

Today

I’m currently spending most of my time at work at Healthcare Success growing the online marketing department. On the side I am running EDM Sauce, Solo Shave and working with a few freelance clients. My goal is to employ others and watch these companies grow in size and the ability to change the world.

Over the next few years, my goals are to marry my girlfriend and best friend, start a non-profit organization and really focus on the needs of the people in my community.
